Frequently Asked Questions
How fit do I need to be?
We recommend that participants need to have a reasonable level of base fitness however due to the range of distance options available each day, the program is suitable to a wide range of abilities. Daily ride distances will be between 40km and 120km, with the final day Gran Fondo being 160km.
What support is available on the daily training rides?
Each days training ride will be split into 3 groups to suit the abilities of participants. Each group will have a lead and tail vehicle as well as mechanical support. Pro riders will be spread across the 3 groups allowing plenty of opportunity for participants to interact with the Pros during the rides.
Can I upgrade my accommodation?
For an additional fee participants may be able upgrade their twin share accommodation to a single room. Contact Emma Ridley for further details emma.ridley@usmevents.com.au
Can I choose to participate in the daily training rides and education program only?
A limited number of registrations will be available for local riders. To be eligible you must be able to demonstrate your residency status.
Are partners welcome?
Most certainly. There are many non cycling attractions and activities available for non participating partners in the Launceston area. Partners will receive accommodation (double room), airport transfers and all meals as well as VIP hospitality at the Launceston Criterium. Refunds and Transfers?
Registrations are not transferrable.
Refunds are available on the following basis;
- A 20% cancellation fee will be incurred if you withdraw up until 5pm 1st September, 2012
- A 30% cancellation fee will be incurred if you withdraw up until 5pm 1st October, 2012
- A 50% cancellation fee will be incurred if you withdraw up until 5pm 15th October, 2012
- No refunds will be offered after 5pm 15th October, 2012
What is the expected climate in Launceston during November?
The weather in Tasmania during November can vary significantly. Maximum temperatures may be between 15C and 28C, minimums be between 5C and 10C. Participants should be prepared for a wide range of conditions with gloves, arm warmers and jackets, for example.
