There are two ways you can enter. You can either enter online via the "Entry" link at the top of the page, and then click on "Enter Online".
If you do not wish to enter online, you may download the booking form from "Entry" and then "Entry Form" via the links at the top of the page, and then send your form to us via post click here for address. Faxed and phone entries will not be accepted. Entries will not be accepted without payment.
Mailed entries are accepted up until 5:00pm on Thursday 19th April.
Online entries are accepted up until 5:00pm on Thursday 19th April.
Race Weekend Entries are accepted, subject to avaliability, at the race venue on;
- Saturday – between 1 – 5pm and incur a $10 late fee
- Sunday – between 5.15am – 6.15am and incur a $15 late fee and a $15 race day racking fee as The Gold Coast Triathlon - Luke Harrop Memorial is a compulsary Saturday bike racking event.
Your age for The Gold Coast Triathlon - Luke Harrop Memorial is the age you were on 31 December 2011.
You can leave your sports bag in the Gear Tent where it will be safely watched over by the event staff while you are out on the course. The Gear Tent will be located in the Check In Tent from 6.15am once check in has closed.
To avoid having all the athletes entering the water at the same time, competitors are divided into “waves”. Each wave will consist of no more than 120 swimmers to give you plenty of room to swim and enter transition smoothly. Check the information board for your swim start time or view them here the in the week leading up to your race.
The water temperature is taken the morning of the race and if the water is 24 degrees or above then it is a non-wetsuit swim. If the water temperature is below 24 degrees, you will be given the option of wearing a wetsuit. It is not a requirement to wear a wetsuit if the water temp is below 24 degrees. Open category competitors minimum water tempurature that allows wetsuits to be worn is 20 degrees.
Yes you can. You can use any type of bike you like provided it is roadworthy and approved by Triathlon Queensland at the time of bike chck in.
No – in fact, unless you are an experienced rider, it's probably a good idea to stick to your running shoes when you're starting out. It also means less change over when you switch form the bike to the run!
Yes, there is plenty of water available on the run course. It is a good idea to slow down and make full use of the drink stations. It is recommended that you have at least one water bottle on your bike for the cycle course.
After the race is a great time to catch up with friends and family, make new friends with your fellow competitors and talk about the whole experience! After that, stick around for the presentations and random draw prizes, remember to put your race number in the barrel, you must be present to win!
Gold Coast Triathlon - Luke Harrop Memorial will also play host of the Series Final of the Gatorade QTS. There will be End of Series Presentations after the Gold Coast Tri - Luke Harrop Memorial Presentations as well as entertainment on stage by Alianah and Kieran.
If you are a category place getter and are unable to stay for presentations, you will need to contact the USM office on brisbane@usmevents.com.au or (07) 3868 2444 within 2 weeks of the event to arrange for medal collection. If you are unable to collect your medal from our office, you are able to have your medal sent for a surcharge of $10. You will also be ineligible for random draw prizes if you are not at the presentation.

By becoming a Triathlon Australia member you will become exempt from paying the one day license fee attached to all USM triathlon events within the membership year.

You cannot transfer your entry to someone else - and it is illegal to race under someone elses name.
Results will be available on the afternoon of the event via the USM Events website. They can be found here.

If you have entered into the wrong category or race, you can contact us up until 5pm Thursday 19th April to make the change. If you need to make a change to your entry after this time, you will be able to see us at the help desk at the check in tent between 1pm-5pm on Saturday 21st April and 5.15am-6.15am on Sunday 22nd April May.
If you are changing from the Fire & Rescue Recruiting QLD Enticer distance to the Gatorade QTS distance, you will be required to pay the difference in entry fees before the change is made.
You will receive the following items when you check in for the race on the Saturday or Sunday at the venue:
- Timing band (to be worn on your LEFT ankle)
- Bike sticker (to be attached arround the stem of your bike underneath your seat)
- Race number (to be worn so that it is visible from the front - required in the cycle and run legs for individuals or just the run leg for teams)
- ID wristband (to be worn around your wrist from before you enter transition to rack your bike until after you remove your bike from transition after the race or after presentations if you are in the draw to win random draw prizes.)
- Swim cap (this seperates the different waves. Please check the wave starts online and on the information boards to check that you have been given the correct coloured swim cap)
You are not permitted to race with any music devices including mobile phones, MP3 players, earphones etc, as stated in Triathlon Australia's rules and regulations. If you are caught with any of these items, you will be instantly disqualified.
If you find that your race results are appearing incorrectly or may not be showing up at all please email the USM Brisbane Office at: brisbane@usmevents.com.au. Please state in your email your Name, Race Number, Event and Category, Approximate race time and your query.
Yes you can enter on Saturday 21st April (Between 1pm and 5pm) and Sunday 22nd April (Between 5.15am and 6.15am) subject to availability. Late registration is located at the Check In Tent at the race venue. There will be a table of late entry forms at the front of the Help Desk and Late Registration section of the Check In tent. Please fill one out and then bring it to the help/late registration desk.
Saturday registrations incur a late fee of $10 and race day entries incur a late fee of $15 plus a late bike racking fee of $15.
Yes there is baggage storage available. This is located at the Check In Tent after check in and late registration has closed. Registration will close at 6:15am on race day.

There are age restrictions for each of the different events within the series;
- Kool Kids Triathlon: 7 - 11years
- Fire & Rescue Recruiting QLD Enticer Tri: 12 years and older
- Gatorade QTS Triathlon: 13 years and older
A team consists of 2 or 3 participants with each person completing one or two legs of the triathlon. Each team has a swimmer, cyclist and runner.
The team is given one timing chip which must be used like a relay baton and passed from one team member to the next within the transition area. All two to three competitors must wear the timing chip on their left leg, above the ankle, in order for the team to get a correct result.
You will not receive anything in the mail regarding your entry into the Gatorade QTS. Closer to the event day, you will find all accepted entries under 'Acceptance List' in the 'Entry' tab on the left hand side of the page. We advise you check this list to ensure your entry has been accepted and you have entered into the correct event and category. You can also check your acceptance and race category by logging on to your USM EVENTS profile using your email and password. If you do not know these please contact the USM EVENTS Brisbane Office.

Please note it is illegal for someone to race under your name or for you to race under someone else's - this will result in suspension from your State Triathlon Association and you are not insured while racing.
