Official Training Camp
OFFICIAL RACE TRAINING CAMP - GEELONG TRIATHLON
Fluid Movements Sports, a coaching affiliate for the Geelong Multi Sport Festival 2012 is conducting the official race training camp in Geelong at the race venue, January 20-22nd 2012.
This is an opportunity for anyone competing at Geelong in the Olympic or the Long Course event, or athletes in general to train on course with other competitors. There will be race specific training sessions and useful information on race preparation and strategies from highly experienced Sprint and Long Course coaches.
The camp is open to everyone!

WHAT'S IN STORE
Discounted accommodation rate offer with the Geelong Conference Centre - Mix and train with other like minded athletes competing at Geelong
- Both Olympic and Long Course competitors will be catered for with specific coaches and sessions relating to your chosen distance.
- Complete a reconnaissance of the course during group swim, ride and run sessions
- Tips and strategies on how best to tackle the Geelong course.
- Tips for race day race pacing based on performance indicators
- Gear and equipment requirements for race day
- Carbohydrate Loading and Hydration testing & analysis, based on a mock load you will do for camp, by leading Dietician, Alan McCubbin B. Nutr Diet, AN, APD, Sports Dietitian
- Train on the course at race intensity on Sunday of the camp in a supervised environment.
A little about the FM Coaches:
Sean Foster – Head Coach
The Athlete: Competing in triathlons for 16years. Sean first represented Australia as an age grouper at the World Olympic Distance titles in 1998. Completed his first Ironman in 1999 at Forster (9:05hrs), finishing 12th overall and 1st age grouper. Competed at Hawaii the same year and was 3rd Aussie to finish and 57th overall in 9:15hrs. Turned Pro in 2000, have has completed 2x Hawaii, with 4x top ten Ironman finishes. A best time of 8:46:48, with an Ironman marathon PB of 2:55hrs. An Olympic distance Personal Best of 1:54hrs.
Sean has again qualified for Hawaii 2011 earlier this year at New Zealand Ironman, and is aiming to qualify at Geelong Olympic for New Zealand Worlds 2012.
The Coach: 15years experience. FM’s honor role includes multiple podium finishes at the recent World Olympic and Sprint Distance Championships - Gold Coast, 5 x Podiums at 2009&10 Port Macquarie Ironman, 8 Half Ironman age champions, 6 x Pro Female Gatorade (Vic) race winners and multiple Half Ironman and Gatorade series champions.
Steve Davis – Sprint/Olympic Coach
The Athlete: 2009 Triathlon World Championships Long Course Australian Age Group Team
2009 1st place AG Sandringham Triathlon, 2nd place AG Calder Park Duathlon, 7th place AG National Series Hobart, 8th place AG Murray man Half Ironman, 8th place AG Busselton Half Ironman.
The Coach: Bachelor Science Nutrition & Psychology, Diploma Sports Consultancy, AUSTSWIM Swimming Instructor, 4 years coaching experience under Sean Foster, Level 1 Triathlon Coach (pending)

Athlete tests for camp
Each athlete’s results will be individually analysed and professional advice given.
- Urine Specific Gravity test – Hydration analysis
- Carbohydrate loading analysis and results
- Bike pacing protocol test – bike race pace predictions given.
Note: Testing protocols, food diaries will be supplied to athletes prior to weekend. We will take you through a mock loading period up to camp. You will receive feedback, providing you with valuable information about how much carbohydrate you are eating, and whether it is suitable to maximise your glycogen (carbohydrate) stores. This will be sent to you once you have confirmed your attendance

- Twin Share $139.00

- Flat $300.00
Breakfast is included in the cost of Twin Share and Single Rooms. All rooms include, Bathroom, Tea/Coffee making facilities, Towels & Complimentary soaps, Television, Telephone & Mini Fridge
The centre has a heated in-ground swimming pool and spa, a Games room with pool tables and table tennis and its own volley ball court.
I can assist with room co-ordination if wanting to share.

$65.00 per athlete for dietary testing regime, results analysis and associated camp costs
CAMP SCHEDULE
Friday 20th January
Arrive and settle in – We will be heading to a local restaurant (TBC) on Friday night for a pre camp carbo-load. If you are looking for a nice meal, come join us on arrival.
Saturday 21st January
7:30am – Geelong Race venue - Course reconnaissance – 40-60km Bike (2lap), then 7-14km run (1-2lap)
12:00pm - Swim start - Open Water Swim session with wetsuits on the Geelong swim course.
Saturday Afternoon 3:00pm - Presentations
Alan McCubbin – Event Loading and Nutrition
- Athletes carbohydrate loading to maximise carbohydrate storage
- Adequate fluid intakes (a combination of this info plus the urine test)

Saturday 7:00pm – Camp Dinner – Local Restaurant (TBC)
Sunday 22nd January
6:30am - 12noon – Race rehearsal – 40-80km bike ride and 10-21km run at moderate to solid intensity on course, rehearsing skills and pacing/nutrition.
Summation from the coaching team then back to accommodation to shower and leave.
