Media Release - Noosa Tri - Festival Fun for all
NOOSA, Australia (October 30, 2012) – There is so much more to the Noosa Triathlon Multi Sport Festival than just swimming, cycling and running. This year organisers have stepped up the entertainment aspect offering another element to the world famous festival that competitors and the general public can enjoy.
The entertainment program will be held in Festival Village in Noosa Woods, at the end of Hastings Street and starts on Friday 2nd through until Sunday 4th November.
The Noosa Sport & Lifestyle Expo, Queensland’s biggest of its kind, will contain even more this year with more than 70 exhibitors featuring a huge range of sporting equipment, supplements, apparel and technical equipment. Grab a bargain, test drive equipment, sample products or just stroll around and window shop.
Over the three days there will be athlete appearances, a fashion parade, demonstrations and Q&A with elite athletes and celebrities, tips from the experts, stunt bike displays, crowd giveaways from our sponsors and loads more.
Expo trading hours:
Friday 2nd November 10.00am – 7.00pm
Saturday 3rd November 9.00am – 5.30pm
Sunday 4th November 12.00pm – 5.00pm
The Festival Village Fiesta gets underway from 4.30pm on Friday 2 November. Kids can join in the fun with face painting, magic acts, balloon art and prizes up for grabs in the treasure hunt.
Cheer on your favourite restaurant and celebrity in the CLOVELY ESTATE Wine Waiters Challenge from 5.30pm, watch the roving entertainment in Festival Village, catch the SEA FM Fireworks Spectacular from 7.30pm at Noosa Main Beach, or join sporting legends at the AMERICAN HONEY Celebrity Tri Bar – Noosa Heads Surf Lifesaving Club at 7pm.
Saturday brings more entertainment of a different kind with the ‘Super Saturday’ program from 2.00pm along Noosa Parade. The Legends Triathlon featuring some of Australia’s most recognised names from a wide range of sports and celebrities go round in a modified triathlon, followed by Australia’s fastest in the Asics Bolt and the Subaru Cycling Grand Prix Noosa!
The entertainment continues on Sunday with the 30th anniversary Noosa Tri followed by the Noosa Sport and Lifestyle Expo opening once again from 12pm. Join the action in Festival Village for a Sunday Session from 12-6pm with Noosa Triathlon Presentation Ceremony at 4pm followed by the Noosa Tri after party featuring 80’s tribute band ‘Bay Street Bandits’, then head to the Noosa Heads Surf Lifesaving Club from 6pm for the ‘Splash of the 80’s’ Tri After Party.
Whether you are a competitor or not, there will be plenty of fun and entertainment for everyone of all ages during the Festival.
The 30th Anniversary Noosa Triathlon Multi Sport Festival will be held from 31 October – 4 November 2012.
