Media Release - Superkidz set to 'Tri' at Noosa
On Saturday 3 November hundreds of local and interstate kids will be gearing up for a whole lot of fun at the Noosa Superkidz Triathlon which forms part of the 30th Anniversary Noosa Triathlon Multi Sport Festival, held between Wednesday 31st October – Sunday 4th November 2012.
The Noosa Superkidz Triathlon is one of the fastest growing and much anticipated events for the kids and parents alike. Festival organisers, USM EVENTS, are predicting an even bigger turn out as triathlon continues its surge in popularity, with families keen to invest in a healthy, active lifestyle.
Held on the Saturday each year of the festival the 2011 event produced record numbers with almost 800 kids taking part and held at the ideal venue, Chaplin Park, Noosaville.
The USM EVENTS philosophy is to give kids a positive experience in a safe, happy environment by taking part in the triathlon.
The world famous Noosa Triathlon, now in its 30th year introduced the Superkidz Triathlon onto the program in 1996 having made its debut at the Mooloolaba Triathlon Festival in 1994 with just 100 kids.
Across the Superkidz events in excess of 16,000 kids have participated.
These events provide kids with an opportunity to swim, cycle and run for fun, plus take home a medal and certificate for having a go. It doesn’t matter how good they are at sport, it gives them the chance to challenge themselves, get healthy and active and boost their self esteem. They can then enjoy a healthy breakfast and be cheered on by the likes of Olympic gold medallist and three time world champion Emma Snowsill, Olympic silver medallist Loretta Harrop, former surf ironman champion Ky Hurst, running legend Steve Moneghetti and swimming star Susie O’Neill who handout the medals as the kids cross the finish line.
USM EVENTS conduct all kids events with the aim a of encouraging children to take part and inspire them to adopt a healthy, active lifestyle and encourage them to be a champion no matter what their skill or fitness level.
