Rules & Regulations
Please find the associated rules and regulations for your desired event below.
ZINC 96.1 SWIM NOOSA Rules
The 3.8km & 2km Swims all have a wetsuit category.
- The material used for swimsuits can only be textile Fabric(s).
- Swim aids such as flippers are not permitted (excluding the use of fins in the Fin Swim category of the 1km Swim).
2km Swim
Once again the Queensland Parks & Wildlife Services (QPWS) are giving you the opportunity to walk out along the Coastal Track to beautiful Tea Tree Bay! However to secure this privilege some rules apply:
- All competitors are to be marshaled outside the entrance to the National Park.
- Numbered competitors will only be allowed entry to the National Park by wave starts/cap colour in groups of 15.
- Spectators are requested not to congregate in groups larger than 10 on any section of the Coastal track.
To comply with the regulations of the QPWS the schedule will run as per below:
- Register at the Surf Club Car Park as per the times allocated on the event timetable.
- The Gear Tent will be located at the Surf Club Car Park. Please leave your belongings in the Gear Tent prior to heading to your swim start .
- A Shuttle Bus will be running from First Point Car Park to the entrance of the National Park from 6.30am.
Minimum age requirements for Swim Noosa events:
- 3.8km Swim (14 years as at 27th April 2013)
- 2km Swim (11 years at at 27th April 2013)
- 1km Swim (9 years as at 27th April 2013)
- 500m Swim (7 years as at 27th April 2013)
SUBARU CYCLE NOOSA Rules
Please note that due to the logistics of the Noosa Ultimate Sports Fest, if you register for the SUBARU NOOSA CYCLE events (160km & 85km), you will be unable to compete in the Half Marathon, MIZUNO 10km Run and the 5km Run/Walk which is held on the same morning. You can however enter the ZINC SWIM NOOSA events!
Minimum age requirements for Cycle Noosa events:
- 160km Cycle (18 years as at 28th April 2013)
- 85km Cycle (16 years as at 28th April 2013)
7 LOCAL NEWS RUN NOOSA Rules
- Please note that due to the logistics of the Noosa Ultimate Sports Fest, if you register for the Half Marathon, MIZUNO 10km Run or the 5km Run/Walk you will be unable to compete in the SUBARU CYCLE NOOSA (160km & 85km) which is held on the same morning. You can however enter the ZINC SWIM NOOSA events!
- Keep to the left of the course at all times. Walkers-please do not walk more than 2 abreast to ensure other people can pass safely.
- Prams are allowed in the 5km Walk only and must start at the back of the field to ensure the safety of other competitors.
- iPods, headphones and other such devices are not permitted in all events.
- Dogs are not permitted in all events.
- No bikes, scooters, rollerblades, or rollerskates are permitted on course.
- Please ensure that you are sufficiently fit and prepared to compete under all race conditions.
Minimum Age Requirements for Run Noosa events:
- Half Marathon (16 years age as at 28th April 2013)
- 10km Run (12 years age as at 28th April 2013)
- 5km Run/Walk (no minimum age requirement)
