Due to the increase in the popularity of road cycling The Grand Prix Cycle Tour is expanding to become a National Grand Prix Cycle Tour in 2008 and is coming to Melbourne for the first time in December.
These criterium style races will transform the CBD café areas into a vibrant, exciting venue with a colourful, fast paced international cycling event attracting some of the world's best cyclists along with thousands of corporate participants and spectators.
The series offers a one off opportunity to mix it with the superstars of cycling at some of Australia's best venues. Spectators will be treated to high action, intense racing and the chance to compete in the Corporate race and meet in person their international cycling heroes.
The Events:
Sunday 30th November 2008 - South Bank, Brisbane
The South Bank Grand Prix fosters Australian and International cycling stars. This year will once again include the National Championships.
There is a Corporate VIP marquee with a fully catered front row seat to enjoy the top level racing and meet all the International cycling stars.

Sunday 7th December 2008 – Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast (tbc)
The Surfers Paradise race will see cyclists head to the heart of Surfers Paradise to compete through Cavill Mall, Orchid Avenue and the Esplanade. This event includes all the excitement of criterium racing for all levels of cyclists. There is a VIP marquee where you can entertain clients, watch all the cycling action while you enjoy the fully catered facility.
Sunday 14th December 2008 – Docklands, Melbourne
Harbour Esplanade, in the heart of Melbourne’s Docklands precinct, will be converted into a 900 metre criterium course that will see some of the world’s best cyclists and corporate teams compete in front of thousands of fans for bragging rights in the lead up to Christmas 2008.
Entries Close:
Non-licensed riders only permitted to enter corporate categories
3pm - Friday prior to each event (if field limits permit)
$5 late fee for race day entries - if field limit permits
South Bank – Friday 28th November
Surfers Paradise - Friday 5th December
Docklands – Friday 12th December
