Luke Harrop Bursary

In memory of Luke Matthew Harrop, and in association with USM EVENTS, the following Bursary is on offer.  The bursary has been designed with Luke in mind.  It includes Luke’s two favourite races, Noosa and Mooloolaba, as well as the Luke Harrop Memorial Race.  The purpose of the bursary is to support up-and-coming elite triathletes with plenty of potential, who have not yet reached the senior-elite ranks.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the 2009/2010 bursary, all athletes must:

• be registered with Triathlon Australia
• be aged 23 years or younger, with age determined on the 31st of December 2009. (ie, no older than 22, turning 23 in 2009).   Note: even if an athlete is no longer in the U23 category (according to TA/ITU rules) for the Luke Harrop Memorial race in 2010, they will still be eligible for the award, providing they qualify for the ITU U23 category in 2009.
• Be ranked outside the top 50 athletes according to the TA international ranking system as of the 28th March, 2009
• Race in the respective categories for each event listed below.

Competitions:

Mooloolaba Triathlon, ‘09 – 29th March, 2009 (Open Elite Category)
Noosa Triathlon, ‘09 – 1st November, 2009 (Elite Category)
Luke Harrop Memorial Triathlon, ’10 – Date tbc – Gold Coast – (Elite Category)
