FEATURED PERFORMERS

SMOKIN' JOE ROBINSON
Joe Robinson began playing the guitar aged ten and one year later began playing professionally (aged just eleven). It soon became obvious to many that a musical prodigy was in their midst. Initially inspired by Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana and other players of that era, Joe then became interested in jazz guitar, teaching himself from the Internet. Joe’s natural ability to play guitar usually seen in seasoned professionals twice his age attracted the attention of many of Australia’s guitar greats, including Tommy and Phil Emmanuel.
With the guidance and support of such renowned players, Joe (now 16) has established himself as one of the most promising artists ever to emerge from Australia.
Joe will return to Nashville in August 2008 to record his long awaited second album with renowned producer, Frank Rogers. Frank has worked with artists like Brad Paisley, Alison Krause, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers!
“Joe will undoubtedly be Australia’s best guitarist, probably as soon as he is 21” - PHIL EMMANUEL.

CATHERINE LAMBERT & Joe Ruberto Trio (VIC)
Swing/mainstream

Catherine Lambert is a master of crooning the sultry jazz ballad and pouring sweet melody into welcoming souls just beyond the stage, or screen.
Throughout Australia, Catherine has performed with some of the country’s (and international touring) Jazz greats including Don Burrows, James Morrison and as support for BB King with Dianne Reeves and the Phillip Morris Super band.
She has also starred and sung in the award winning movie “Lost in Translation” in 2004.
Catherine Lambert and the Joe Ruberto Trio (with Michael Tortoni on bass, Anthony Baker on drums and Joe Ruberto on piano) will perform timeless jazz classics, hot sambas and cool bossa-novas to perfection.

BOB MALONE TRIO (USA)
Blues
Over the last decade Bob Malone has carved out a unique niche — burning up a quarter million miles of asphalt a year touring his own national circuit, a mix of art house and coffee house, posh theatres and skeevy dive bars.
In addition to being an in-demand Los Angeles studio musician and television composer, Bob Malone tours tirelessly, logging over 80 dates a year both as a headliner and as support act for The Neville Brothers, Rev. Al Green, Boz Scaggs, Manhattan Transfer, Leon Russell, Subdudes, and Vonda Shepard, to name just a few.
Bob is currently working on a new project with producer Bob DeMarco and a host of the finest musicians in Los Angeles.
Current awards include Artist of the Year and Singer/Songwriter Album of the Year at the Just Plain Folks 2006 Music Awards, Songwriter of the Year at the 2007 South Bay Music Awards, and the ASCAP Plus Award.
Bob will be performing exclusively in Queensland at the Noosa Jazz Festival and we are honoured to have him join us for 2008…a rare opportunity to see such a seasoned Internationally touring star at our own door step…

THE MOODS (NSW)
Traditional/mainstream/Swing
The Moods are a new versatile young band with a difference. They were formed in late 1991 with original members Shane, Chris & Joern being joined by Duncan on drums in late 1996 and Todd on trumpet mid 2002. They are Sydney based and play an eclectic mix of music which needs to pass the criteria of being great to listen or dance to and fun to play.
The repertoire ranges from early trad music in the New Orleans style through to the swing of the big band played in a small band setting, South American dance numbers, standards from the Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin songbooks to 1960s grooves similar to the style known in the 1990s as acid jazz.
