Jazz Factory (QLD)
traditional
The Jazz Factory draws its inspiration from an earlier era of love songs, rip roaring jazz and great fun times. If you like Louis Armstrong, Irving Berlin and Duke Ellington, you will love this band! Three of the band members sing so you won't, go short of some great vocals. One of the great delights of this band is the clean sound and harmonic balance achieved by the musician's compatibility, no doubt partially as a result of the many gigs played together.
Ian Denovan: Trumpet, cornet, vocal
Peter Strokhorb: Clarinet and baby soprano sax
Greg Garrett: Banjo, vocal
Richard Stevens: Sousaphone and leader

Bob Barnard Quartet -(Sydney)
Bob Barnard's playing is notable for his big, rich sound and the consummate ease of his flowing solo lines. Although his name was made, and his fame spread, through his forceful playing in the traditional jazz style this is by no means the extent of his huge talent.
Bob's style has been compared to the likes of Louis Armstrong, Bobby Hackett and Billy Butterfield, but many say that comparisons are perhaps not so appropriate... unique is the word! Bob has recorded with some of the world's best musicians, received the Order of Australia and won two MO awards.
Bob will be programmed with the cream of Australian Jazz talent throughout the 3 day festival and will lead each group into a truly spontaneous mix of all jazz genres, as well as play exclusive sets with his own Sydney band…
Bob's mellow tone and lyrical style have been an integral part of the Australian Jazz scene since the 1950's. More recently, Bob's music has become known to the rest of the world where he is in much demand and can be heard among the best musical company. On his regular trips to North America, he has performed with the likes of Jim Cullum, John Sheridan, Dan Barrett and Peanuts Hucko
Celebrating his 75 Birthday, the Noosa Jazz Festival will celebrate with Bob in a stellar line up as musicians vie for the opportunity to explode into some hot smoking jazz..
