Pick up your picnic blanket and pack up your family and friends and head down to the free Jazz in the Woods concert, proudly sponsored by The Sunday Mail.

The Noosa Jazz in the woods concert is a Noosa tradition and is embraced by the community on all levels.  Born from humble beginnings 16 years ago, it is now a pinnacle part of the 3 day festival and draws thousand of people down Hastings St into a sea of music.

The concert always delivers a cross section of traditional jazz, swing, blues and big band entertainment, with this year’s highlight finale – Winner of Channel 7 Grand Final 2008 Australia’s Got Talent, sixteen year old sensation Smokin’ Joe Robinson.  There is something to excite the young and the old alike.  The event draws a wide cross section of locals and interstate tourists who enjoy bringing a picnic along and parking themselves under a shady tree as they soak up the ambiance.

It’s a great day for families and friends to enjoy great music, feast at the food hall or potter around the 30 market stalls for a bargain while the children enjoy the kid’s corner and jump themselves silly on the giant jumping castle. The budget bar is always open to offer dad that special first Fathers Day beer while the family explore their surrounds.  The backdrop of the stage is the tranquil Noosa River and you can be sure to see the river spotted with boats anchored close to the shore, again with their occupants sipping champagne as they are treated to some amazing jazz.  Why not park the car and catch the Noosa Riverlight Ferry to the Park instead of fighting for a precious and limited car spot in Hastings St.
