Wave Starts

All swim start times/wave starts are determined during the week before each individual race. To ensure it is fair for all competitors the QTS Age Group swim starts change each race so all competitors have varied start times across the 6 races.

The time between each wave start is determined by the number of competitors in each age group. As the competitor numbers increase so does the length of the Race Swim Start. A certain amount of time is required between the waves to ensure the whole course is safe for all competitors. We want our competitors to be able to compete without being caught up in large packs on the cycle course or injured in large groups in the swim.

Race 6 - Raby Bay
