The Gold Coast Half Ironman is one of the most popular in the series and 2009 will be our second year at the Calypso Bay venue. With so much on offer over the two days this event continues to draw more competitors each year to both the Half Ironman and Sprintman events.

Not since his win at last years Gold Coast Half Ironman has David Dellow tasted victory but he has accumulated a number of second places - 2008 Noosa Triathlon behind Olympian and four time national sprint champion Courtney Atkinson and more recently in Geelong to Ironman champion Craig Alexander. Not such a bad effort considering the caliber of athletes in front of him.

Dellow considered retirement after the 2008 GCHIM race to finally make a living as a qualified accountant, but he is as yet undecided about calling a day on his triathlon career.
