Congratulations to those successful triathletes who received a winning spot in one of our Noosa Triathlon Lotteries!

The Round 1 Lottery was drawn on Monday 12th July and 50 people gained an individual or team spot. Round 2 Lottery was drawn on Monday 19th July and emails were sent out to 350 random lottery registrants.

The Noosa Triathlon Lottery is now closed for entry however the people who are still registered on it will remain registered may the opportunity arise in the near future for any further spots to be released. However please note, the release of more spots is not guaranteed at this stage.

We’d like to thank everyone who registered for the Noosa Triathlon Lottery and in doing so donated $10 to the Noosa Triathlon Multisport Festival’s official charity, the National Breast Cancer Foundation. All monies raised from the Lottery will be going to the charity to contribute to research for the prevention and cure of breast cancer.

A total donation of $9010.00 has been raised for the National Breast Cancer Foundation which will be presented to the Noosa Zonta Club who represent the charity within the local community.

Phillipa Smith, the President of the Zonta Club of Noosa, says the Club will gratefully accept the money and pass the full $9010 through to the National Breast Cancer
Foundation. These funds will be used for Australian Based Researchers to increase understanding of genetics and to improve the health and wellbeing of those affected by breast cancer through the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

“USM EVENTS have again supported the Zonta Club of Noosa in their fantastic Noosa Triathlon Lottery held for the first time in 2010  – with all the funds raised going direct to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The Zonta Club of Noosa are very grateful for all the wonderful support we have received in the past years of working with USM EVENTS and are now overwhelmed with this wonderful donation”.

The Zonta Club of Noosa is part of a global organization of executives and professionals who volunteer their time to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. USM EVENTS looks forward to working with the Zonta Club of Noosa to raise awareness and monies for the Noosa Triathlon Multisport Festival’s official charity, the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

We’d like to introduce you to Stu Fisher, our guest blogger for the 2010 Noosa Tri. Stu has only taken up triathlon recently in a bid to lose some weight and get the finish line at Noosa. We will follow his trials and tribulations on his road to Noosa over the coming months....
In just over 3 months I will do something that no sane person would ever do. But fortunately, I’m one of 8,500 other insane people competing in the Noosa Triathlon. 51.5km of swimming, riding and running and all so we can get back to where we started from.
